"Disappointments… and that Strange Friend Called Silence"
Disappointments…
I think everyone should face this once in their lifetime.
Don’t you guys feel so?
This one word carries so much pain.
Sometimes it feels like a small storm and sometimes like a whole earthquake inside.
For example, if parents tell their children that there will be an outing and the kids get so excited… and then suddenly the plan is cancelled—believe me, for them that’s a huge disappointment.
And then there is a fish lying helpless on the seashore, wanting water but never reaching it. For that fish, disappointment is not just sadness. For that fish, it’s a matter of life and death.
And we humans… we can feel that same pain in our own way.
To be honest, I am just here to share my feelings, so I won’t lie.
I have felt that pain too. Not just now. From my childhood.
You might be thinking that all these years my life was only pain.
But no… disappointments were not the only thing.
Still, I can say one thing: they have been a major factor.
Let’s dive into this pain together.
Don’t take me wrong when I say “together in pain.”
What I mean is: in your lifetime, you should face disappointments.
Because I have faced a lot of them.
So much that now… I don’t feel that deep pain anymore which I used to feel earlier.
And then I ask myself sometimes:
What is the point of being in so much pain?
And when I think about it deeply, there is another side to it.
Maybe… just maybe… these things come into our life to make us strong.
If you never experience pain or disappointment, you will never know your own worth.
We actually come to know who we are only when we are in those low phases. When our energies are low. When we feel like there is no one.
Yes, I agree… disappointments can give us:
- many sleepless nights
- anxiety
- panic
I am not asking you to ignore these feelings.
I am saying: face them.
Face them with full strength and elegance.
And here is a small solution from me.
Whenever you feel exhausted or disappointed, just take a pause.
Do whatever you want to do. Cry. Write. Sit. Anything.
But in that time, your best friend is silence.
Silence is your best friend in that phase.
If you master your silence, you can beat anything—any monster which haunts you in your nightmares.
Ohh I am sorry… nightmares? Really??
But honestly, I think we are a generation maintaining a legacy of insomnia.
And you know what, that’s okay too.
Because through this, you come to know about yourself.
How strong you are.
How much strength you actually have.
Read this line again and keep it with you:
"Don’t make your disappointments your weakness. Make it a way to escape from your old version into a brand new, powerful version of yourself."
Disappointments…
Yes, they break us.
But at the same time, they rebuild us.
At the end of the day, they show us who we really are.
So tell me in the comments:
How many disappointments have you faced?
And what did they teach you about yourself?
